Tandon Residence

Great spaces make for great living.

The Tandon residence was designed with this motto and only that as the client’s fundamental brief was to have great open spaces with an abundance of light and air.  Skylights and large openings confirmed that this idea was carried through.

The building is located in an elite neighborhood and needed that to reflect in the space within. The resulting design consisted of large rooms with double height living spaces and floor to ceiling windows.

The concept of one with nature was truly explored when all the surrounding green was allowed to participate with the building. Open balconies and terraces accompanied by large windows blurred the lines between the inside and the outside.

Splashes of exposed brick and concrete finishes gave a beautiful texture and contributed further to the concept of leaving everything in its natural form.

Upcycling being an imperative need of the hour, the railing grills and many other building entities were refurbished and reused. The cafe on the top floor carries through the theme of the building and continues to offer spaces of work and leisure at the same time. External cladding tiles were used to block out the harsh Southern Sun. It also added to the visual textural complexity to make the facade stand apart amongst its neighbors.
